Coraly Schreiber brings to our firm over 22 years of federal government service and a proven record of client successes in private practice. Originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico, Coraly rejoined the Firm in 2025 as Counsel and leads the office in San Juan. Her success as an attorney in private practice and experience as a former Attorney-Advisor with US Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Office of Trade, provide Coraly with valuable breadth of expertise that benefits the Firm’s clients.
At CBP, Coraly held multiple high level roles—including Fines, Penalties and Forfeitures (FPF) Branch Chief in Washington, DC, overseeing all 42 CBP FPF offices at the national level, and Attorney-Advisor in the Office of Trade, Regulations and Rulings. As an Attorney-Advisor she spent a decade advising on enforcement actions and FOIA-related matters, and later served as FPF Administrator for US Border Patrol, Southeast Region.
Coraly’s deep understanding of CBP operations—from field enforcement to national-level policy—makes her a subject matter expert in penalties, liquidated damages, seizures, and regulatory compliance. She not only attended but taught courses at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers, and she continues to be an in-demand speaker and trainer.
In private practice, as a Managing Attorney at a Customs and international trade law firm, as well as in her prior role with the Firm, as Of Counsel, Coraly obtained major victories for clients, including full relief in seizure cases, the granting of a denied customs broker’s license, successful protests and AFRs, and cancellation of improper penalties. She has also secured FOIA document releases and favorable CBP rulings through persuasive legal analysis.
Coraly counsels and represents clients on a wide range of customs and international trade matters, such as responding to enforcement actions by federal agencies, including preparing petitions for relief in response to notices of penalties and liquidated damages, protests and post summary corrections (PSC) challenging CBP decisions, the accurate classification of imported products, and the development of duty-saving strategies for importers.
Coraly is not just bilingual, fluent in Spanish and English, but her practice is fully bicultural, making her a powerful advocate for clients navigating complex Customs and trade matters.
