Among her work, Andrea has the primary responsibility for reviewing and preparing clients’s documents for submission to US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regarding prior disclosures, responses to Requests for Information (CBP-28), proposed Notices of Action (CBP-29), and Pre-Penalty Notices, Petitions for Relief relating to penalties issued under 19 USC § 1526 (merchandise bearing counterfeit marks), 19 USC § 1592 (fraud, gross negligence, and negligence), 19 USC § 1595a (aiding unlawful importation), Protests, and ruling requests.  Additionally, Andrea works directly with clients to address HTSUS classification, Section 301 duties and exclusions, and antidumping/countervailing duty issues relating to scope, administrative proceedings, liquidation, and customs bonds.

Andrea has similar experience regarding the Firm’s International Trade & National Security practice, including preparing export and reexport license applications and Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) Commodity Classification for Commodity Classification Automated Tracking System (CCATS) requests to the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), specific license applications for submission to the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), voluntary self-disclosures for submission to BIS and the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC).
